Several weeks ago I got an email from school announcing the campout for the 5th graders, and the fact that mine was a boy, I felt a sigh of relief that this would get to be The Mister’s turn to volunteer. Oh but NO. They decided to switch things up this year and have the OPPOSITE parent go. Yup. My turn AGAIN. I’ve been the past 3 years with my daughter, and it was time to buck up again with my son. Granted, I LOVE being with my kids, so that is the whole reason I DID volunteer. The thought of seeing them in their element and getting to see their peers, too, just makes me see them in a much more real way than only at home. So then, since I knew what I had in store for me, I thought I’d share more of a “glam girl gone camping” perspective for all of you who might face this in YOUR future.
Some things I might be sharing with you:
How to heat water with a gallon jug and the tailpipe of my BMW….
How to build a wifi network with tin foil and eyelash curlers…
How to start a campfire with a match and a can of hairspray…
How to build a tent with lip balm and hair ties…
How to catch a fish with only dental floss and a bobby pin…
{tee hee hee! isn’t this fun!}
But seriously…..
You can see, I kept things pretty simple… Not much on the skin care, hair care, purse goods. White with the towels because, well, they make me feel like we’re in a luxury resort. Even though I was going to be the furthest from there!
Tune in later this week for Part 2, how it ended up….
