This is the best fall salad ever. Ever. Ever. And honestly, you don’t have to save it for fall, but it gets requested from me over and over again when we do family gatherings. I have modified this salad from when I got it from a friend over 15 years ago, and I have been making it year after year. I’m not kidding. It’s THAT good.
I made it again for Thanksgiving… shocker! I will probably make it for Christmas too. That’s why I’m sharing this. Your family will thank you if you make this salad as well.
Best Fall Salad Ever
Dressing
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 3 Tbs. soy sauce
- 1/2 balsamic vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
Fixings
- Romaine lettuce
- 1 small container blue cheese crumbles
- 2 packages dry ramen noodles crumbled
- 1 pear slivered
- optional – omit pear and add apple slices
- optional – sugared pecans
- optional – dried cranberries
Prepare the dressing in a container. It will be thick and almost syrup-like. Prepare the fixings for the salad. Shaking the dressing to mix it may not be sufficient, so stirring it with a fork might be what it needs. It will be very thick in consistency. Pour over salad fixings and toss. It’s even better if it has been sitting!
Let me know if you try it and what you think of it!
