Today is the first day we need to kinda act like “adults”.
It’s Monday (first of all), and the first Monday of the year, meaning the celebrating and holiday-ing are now over. Whether we work a 9-5 type of job or not, life pretty much “resumes” to the day to day thing we do.
As we’ve just closed the chapter to another year, I wanted to reflect back on some lessons learned in 2015:
- Never say never. If you’re working hard and doing what you do, and you love doing it, amazing things can happen. I promise!
- Get outside your box. Network and explore with new people, new groups, new circles. You might help someone else and they might help you. You never know what can flourish from new connections. From business connections to personal friendships, so many wonderful things can blossom when getting outside your bubble that you normal stay in. (refer to #1)
- Try something new. Kinda like #2, but in a tangible doing kind of thing. Like painting I did (in a more serious way than just with my kids) and I shared it HERE. Like Periscope, and I LOVE it! (You should look into it, at the very least watch me and interact with me. Doesn’t mean you have to do it … yet!) What’s Periscope? Read it HERE.
- You CAN do it. Yup. It’s cheesy. And cliche’. But it’s true. Looking back on things that I’ve done, even beyond this past 12 months, I can say, I REALLY DID ALL THAT? Hmmmm, wow, I’m kinda proud! That’s really me? Lil ole me? Yup. (refer to #1) {wink}
- Don’t take life and people for granted. We never know how something can change in a blink of an eye. Appreciate and love those that mean the most. Don’t treat them like shit. One day you might need them. One day they might be gone. One day they may be the only thing you have left. You don’t want to have regrets. Love on those you love. We might not have them tomorrow.
And of course the biggest thing is we never stop learning and growing. So is this my complete list of what I learned this year? Of course not. But it’s all encompassing and in a nutshell and I think applies to business and personal stuff. It’s just life, right? And we can take it and grow from it.
What lessons have you learned this past year?
