This Friday marks the end of my oldest’s career in middle division at school. Next year she enters high school. She is so ready for it. And it’s also a day I’m praying for some sunshine because our summer is officially kicking of with school letting out. In our part of the world in Oklahoma, we have had record amounts of rain like never seen before. I’ll admit, I don’t mind it over the blistering heat, but jeez, a little bit of sunshine would be nice.
So along comes another “mother’s helper” so to speak. {wink!} I call it a Pocket Full of Sunshine, because frankly, I could use the sunshine, and it reminds me of summer, and I need my day brightened because of the blues I’m feeling that my little girl is officially growing up. Ya, it’s not that big of a deal, but you know, it’s just one of those milestones.
Again, you know how I love simple when it comes to just taking care of mom here, although it’s great serving it up for others, don’t get me wrong. This simple concoction of Malibu Rum, with it’s coconut flavor, and this SPECIAL juice I use.. Pineapple Orange Banana… gives it that tropical feel. Of course this is always awesome with just pineapple, but this trio flavored juice is something different.
Pocket Full of Sunshine
- Malibu Rum
- Dole Pineapple Orange Banana Juice
Fill your glass with ice. Add juice. Add your rum to your desired fuzzy liking.
There you have it. I’m ready for the summer. I’m ready to sleep in, I’m ready to lay by the pool and read some great magazines (because I still prefer the paper kind), and I’m ready to soak up some sun. And I’m ready to enjoy my kiddos…. until I can’t take anymore. (HA!) Who is with me here?
Cheers to the weekend! #drinkresponsibly
