This is the time of year we’re so reminded of doing good deeds for others, spreading the love, being kind. And I don’t know about where you live, but there are little hot spots across my city where I see people standing on the street corners of major intersections. They hold signs of being homeless, hungry, cold, no food, no job. Of course we all know we know nothing of their circumstances or their story and why they’re there. And it’s not my business to know. But, I do feel like I can do something to help, even if they’re not legit.
So I’ve put together a few things that could possibly help them. I made “Bags of Love”… Bags that can kinda help a person out with just a few bare necessities. I’ll keep them in my car, and next time I hit a stop light with someone holding a sign of being hungry and cold, I’ll hand them one of my bags of love.
This doesn’t cost a lot of money at all really, a few dollars spread between multiple bags of love when you divide up some of these packages. You can create really whatever you want for it, but I put together a few unisex things that are harmless and good for them.
I went to Dollar Tree (one of my FAVORITE stores EVER!), and picked up almost everything (even a 6 pack of bottled water!), and the rest I got at Big Lot’s across the street (things like boxes of granola bars…)
I laid it all in an assembly line fashion for my kids to make later that evening.
I will say… when I was shopping for these things, I had the most amazing feeling inside knowing what I was putting together. It’s indescribable, but it was so good.
We’ll keep these bags on hand in the car and whenever we see someone in need at a light, we’ll pull it out and hand it to him, hopefully blessing them a bit and giving them a little bit of love they might be needing. I can’t wait to see how this goes! I kinda wish I had some kind of a dash cam to show you! HA!

I love this idea! I am just now catching up with you after the holidays, and I think this would be even perfect for Valentines Day just to give someone a little smile that might not expect! Thank you for sharing!
