… where do I EVEN begin…
So first lemme begin by saying that as much as I love all the things I share here… bags, coats, beautiful living, food, hair, always trying to lose 5 lbs (HA!), jewelry, makeup.. truly… yes those things make day to day living all that more sparkly and wonderful, but what truly matters to me are these things….
Today I’m gettin real ya’ll. And you KNOW this Chicago girl turned Okie really doesn’t say ya’ll much. Today I’m talking real and from the core…
What I’m thankful for…
1. Health. Good health. For my family and my friends. Sometimes we take our health for granted until someone near and dear to us get’s hit with something, and hit hard too. Without health, what do we have? Really truly.
2. These people….
These humans in my life… my mom and dad, my PRECIOUS babies, my inlaws, and of course The Mister… (and his brother, wife and babies that aren’t in this pic… ).
Blessed is an understatement of what I am with all of them. Kids that have been the best little people since day one who have opened my heart into the biggest love that exists from here to moon and back 10,000 times, in laws who love me like their own, who we have a riot together with (for real! My mother in law frequent the casinos, just us, like crazy ladies!… TOTALLY insane!), with my husband who has put me on this pedestal since day one, and my parents… well, lets just say, if you know them… words can’t EVEN begin to describe them. Am I right? The biggest thing about all of this I have all of them WITH me. Still today on this earth. My BIGGEST fear under the sun is any of them getting taken from me. I have NO idea how I’m going to handle it, just sayin… I donno that the Master Plan is, for all I know, I might go first, but I fear the day when I lose any of these people. So forewarning for all of you. Because all of YOU, my readers, are like this wonderful extended family I’ve let into my heart and into my life. Getting real. See? I told ya.
Sometimes when my feelings are so huge for people like it is for my family, I’m almost speechless… and that doesn’t happen often.
3. New friends, old friends, and every experience that helps me grow. Reuniting with old friends that I’ve known my whole life gives me goosebumps. That feeling inside that takes you back to when you were childhood friends as if you’ve never left that moment and that you cherish them and they you as much now as then, if not more, is the most AMAZING thing. New friendships that have taught me so much about myself, about life, about the world, that have helped me grow into a better person, a stronger person, is something I’m SO thankful for. Each experience we have teaches us SOMETHING… whatever that might be… so for that, I know I’m constantly growing as a person. So for that, I’m thankful.
… kinda pouring my heart out to ya’ll today… seriously, I feel like when it all comes down to it, our health, family and friends is what it’s all about. Right? Of course, our wonderful Creator has made this all possible. That’s understood. And I thank Him for all of the above.
I’d love to hear from you… What are you thankful for?
