I always say we’re always growing, right? Well, seriously, that couldn’t be more true than ever this week. So I have a round up of a few random thoughts to close our week I’d love to enlighten you with…
1. First, you guys know this week my house was a tornado and a half. From painting the family room and bar. Mostly because it was sprayed.. which means DUST everywhere. All four of us were crammed into my bedroom along with my cat for 4 days. Good times. So with that displacement that I didn’t foresee coming came some disruption for me. I was actually able to say LET IT GO, and not stress… I didn’t post yesterday. Did you notice? Guess what? I survived. {breathe deep! ha!} I’m such a perfectionist and want to be #OP #onpurpose and share with you daily, but mentally, I just couldn’t. And guess what? It was A – OK. I lived! (… but did you miss me??? wink!) I gave myself permission to not be so hard on myself. Do you ever feel like you’re so hard on yourself? If you eased up, would it really help your overall happiness? Is it worth it?
(… my mom hat coming out… here’s my son singing Let It Go, solo. #proudmamamoment. I just had to share! You don’t have to watch, but just saying, I “let it go”. ha!)
2. Nights that I wake up for no reason in the middle of the night, not necessarily a racing brain of ideas (which is most of the time), I find myself doing this…
I created a NEW word to add to Webster’s dictionary. PINSTAGRAM, a verb, meaning to go back and forth, pinning and instagramming, (both new words that didn’t exist in the 80’s), either to play catch up because I’ve been too busy in the day to see my feed and follow and engage, or to get inspirations for everything and anything. And go back and forth.
… so used in a sentence, “I was PINSTAGRAMMING at 2 am and found some amazing things and finally closed my eyes at 4 am.” (could be a true story, fyi, because that’s how my brain and body has been going these days… fun, huh?)
Feel free to use my new word and TAG me when you do! {wink!}
3. One of the things on my bucket list I’ve always had for a long time is to write a book. Well, (brace yourself!) I’m doing it! I’ve just completed my part in a book I’m co-authoring with a few other women, I couldn’t be more thrilled about, which is the first thing. And now I’ll begin MY book. My first one of my own. I’m SO excited I can’t EVEN tell you… Now… by me spilling the beans on this, it means now I have to have some accountability. That’s good! I think deep down that’s why I’m sharing this with you. I will not share the details of what it will be, but just know, that I plan on adding “author” to my list of things I’ve done. And it feels SO good! And referring back to #1 above, if I am feeling a bit overwhelmed and I skip a day here, I will survive, and everything will still be OK.
4. November is known for the month of giving thanks. The list of what I’m thankful for is too long, but today, I just wanna share that I’m thankful for those that are genuinely kind and loving. For people who practice my favorite rule, “treat others the way you want to be treated.” Be kind and love others. All the time, not just in certain situations and then turn around be hurtful in other situations. I guess I just don’t get why some people are kind SOMEtimes instead of ALL the time. So that’s why I choose to surround myself with those who are positive, genuine, real, kind, loving, not two-faced, mean, or hurtful. Thankful for all of my friends who love me with all my quirkiness and craziness and obnoxiousness and whatever else I am. Not only my friends, but thankful for all who just are that way to everyone all the time.
Signing out for Friday!
Cheers to the weekend! Muuuuuuuaaaah!
