That plate of cookies.
That extra cocktail.
Going for seconds after having a plate full of dinner.
The candy bowl at the office you are visiting.
For your side item with your main course… fries or steamed veggies.
Here’s the deal. We have these choices to make ALL the time. And if you’re like me, always challenged by weight, not because I’m overweight, but because the slightest amount of extra calories consumed shows up in my thighs, in my tummy, on my face, pretty much, EVERYWHERE… then you need to listen up. You can talk yourself thin.
This is one of my BIGGEST lessons I taught myself AND my classes when I taught Weight Watchers.
It’s self talk. And what you say to yourself.
And this ONE sentence is SO huge, SO impactful, and makes SO much sense, I want you to consider using it yourself if you are faced with this same situation.
See here’s the deal. JUST regular ole cookies. JUST pizza from the same ole pizza place behind my house that I can have ANY time.
Here’s what I say to myself. Is it a special occasion? Is it something I can’t experience any other time? I evaluate IS IT WORTH IT? If it’s really NOT that big of a deal, then all of a sudden, those cookies aren’t as appealing. AND the FEELING itself of being thin… HOW YOU FEEL INSIDE when you feel like you’re at your best, that FEELING is worth WAY more than those cookies, the extra cocktail, those french fries.
Think about it.
If you’re on a mission to lose any amount of weight, then PRINT THAT pretty pink image, and tape it to your refrigerator, your pantry doors, your mirror, on the inside of you planner. Saying it over and over again WORKS. I promise.
Let me know if this is something you’re going to try.
