Happy THREE DAY WEEKEND!
Time to officially kick off the summer (even though it’s not official till June), school is out (for us) and it’s time to have a little downtime, at least that’s the goal, right?
When I think of Memorial Day Weekend, I think of big family gatherings at big parks… in Oklahoma I think most people think of weekends at The Lake…. I think of days that we are just chilling in the backyard after a morning of cleaning up the garage and throwing out stuff we don’t need, blowing up pool float thingys, and pretty much getting ready for the warmer months.
Whatever Memorial Day looks like to you, it’s a 3 day weekend that we all can agree we just say AHHHHH… and NO it’s not NOW that we can wear white. We can wear white ALL the time. And it’s time to celebrate that EXHALE.
Today’s cocktail is perfect for a crowd and takes a minute to whip up. Like really no measuring even. Who doesn’t love that? Cherry Beer Margaritas. That’s right. Doesn’t that sound yummy?
Now …. I will say this. In case you haven’t noticed, I don’t post lots of things with tequila or margarita anything. The reason for that is this. I had a really bad experience with margaritas in college. Y’all know what I’m talking about? When you had a little bit too much of something and the taste or thought of it makes you nauseous again? Ya. That’s me. But this isn’t like that. I can tolerate it and it’s GOOD!
Cherry Beer Margaritas
- 1 (12-ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate
- 12 ounces cherry flavored soda (I used Diet Cherry 7 Up)
- 1 (12-ounce) bottle of your favorite beer (I used Corona Light)
- 12 ounces of your favorite tequila
- Kosher salt, for rimming glass
- Lime for garnish
- Cherries for garnish
Rub lime wedge around rim of each glass and dip in kosher salt to coat rim. In a large pitcher, mix all ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon to combine. Serve over ice (if desired) & garnish with a lime wedge & cherry.
I used the can of the limeade concentrate to measure the cherry soda and tequila. How’s THAT for easy?
How will you spend your Memorial Day weekend?
